GENERAL
-
No, the style of Acupuncture I practice is very gentle. In general, there are a handful of points on the body that are more sensitive than others, however, even those points are mostly painless upon entry.
What many clients feel during a treatment is not pain but the sensation of qi/energy moving around the body. This is a very positive sign that the treatment is working affectively.
Overall, clients feel very relaxed during and after treatment and many even fall asleep.

Thank you for asking; the answer is no! These therapies help you maintain a healthier state of being in your mind, body and spirit. Minimizing stress is optimal for healthy living.
-
That is perfectly understandable! If you are still drawn to Acupuncture therapy we can do Acupressure (massage techniques on acupuncture points/channels) or apply Auricular "Ear" Seeds on your ear over specific Acupuncture points to help you. No needles involved!

Acupuncture and Reiki are cumulative and dosage dependent therapies – much like PT (Physical Therapy). This means that an average number of sessions per week (1-3) over an average number of weeks or months are needed for healing and each session builds upon the next to strengthen the body. You should begin noticing how your body is “responding” within 3-5 visits depending on how acute or chronic the issue(s) is.
After this time, we are more able to gauge how many treatments may be necessary for you. Treatments must be close enough together so the body does not lose the momentum of healing and sessions should not be skipped. Some clients will need ongoing maintenance treatments to support their condition.

For your comfort we recommend wearing loose clothing like soft shorts and a tank/t-shirt. Many of the acupuncture points are located on the arms, legs, abdomen and back and can be accessed by moving the clothing. Client gowns / towels are available.

We do not take insurance, however, we do accept HSA (Health Savings Account) cards for payment, cash, check, venmo, and all major credit cards.
If you are certain you have “OUT OF NETWORK” Acupuncture coverage (some plans under Cigna, Aetna, and United Health Care do) we will be happy to provide you with a Superbill (receipt of services rendered) YOU submit directly to your insurance provider for reimbursement. We ask that you CONFIRM with your insurance provider your coverage for “OUT OF NETWORK” Acupuncture services before we draft the form.
